Summer Sizzler: Easy BBQ Chicken Legs!

Summer Sizzler: Easy BBQ Chicken Legs!

There’s nothing quite like the smell of a BBQ firing up on a beautiful Nova Scotia day, right? With summer officially here, it’s the perfect time to get those grills going. And what’s easier, more flavourful, and more satisfying than perfectly grilled chicken legs?

This recipe uses our favourite Annada Chicken Masala to bring out incredible depth, and a touch of Annada Coriander Powder for that extra aromatic kick. It's so simple, you'll be making it all season long!

Your Ingredients for a Flavourful BBQ:

  • 2 whole chicken legs (skin on for that crispy perfection!)
  • 4 tbsp Annada Chicken Masala
  • 1 tbsp Annada Coriander Powder
  • 1 tbsp salt (or to taste)

Let's Get Grilling! Your Easy Steps:

  1. Prep Your Chicken: Start by giving your chicken legs a good rinse and pat them thoroughly dry with paper towels. The drier the skin, the crispier it will get on the grill!
  2. Spice It Up with Annada: In a small bowl, combine the Annada Chicken Masala, Annada Coriander Powder, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Marinate for Maximum Flavour: Generously rub the spice mixture all over the chicken legs, making sure to get it under the skin where possible for extra flavour. For best results, let the chicken marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes, or even better, a few hours. If you've got the time, an overnight marinade truly elevates the taste!
  4. Heat the Grill: Preheat your BBQ to a medium-high heat (around 375-400°F or 190-200°C). For even cooking and to prevent burning, you might want to create a two-zone fire if your grill allows – one hot side and one slightly cooler side.
  5. Grill to Perfection: Place the chicken legs on the grill. Cook for about 35-45 minutes, turning every 7-10 minutes to ensure even cooking and a beautiful, crispy skin on all sides. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C) when checked with a meat thermometer.
  6. Rest & Serve: Once cooked, remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring juicy and tender chicken.

Enjoy Your Nova Scotia BBQ!

Serve these flavourful chicken legs with your favourite summer sides – perhaps a fresh garden salad from a local farmer's market, some grilled corn on the cob, or a classic potato salad. This recipe is sure to be a hit at your next backyard gathering!
